“It is the moment you’re frightened that life is real.” The Addams Family is a story of a monster family whose lives are changed by a romance with a Midwesterner. As expected, The Addams Family is based on the old Addams Family TV show and the 1990’s films. Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Fester, Lurch and the whole family, dead or undead, are back, including an older Wednesday Addams who believes she has fallen in love with a young man, Lucas, from Ohio. In stark contrast to the Addams’ interesting lifestyle, Lucas and his family are the epitome of a middle class, mid-American family. This “creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky” production has fathomless energy and hundreds of laughs to tickle your funny bone— be it still attached to your body or buried out back in the family crypt. When you’re an Addams, you move toward the darkness, welcome the unknown and lose your inhibitions. Come become an Addams for a couple of hours of fun.
