DESCRIPTION:Swim Team Fundraiser \nCome join us at the Sebring High School pool on August 17th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to try scuba diving and support the Sebring High School swim and dive team! If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to scuba dive\, or want to discover a new hobby\, this is your chance! \nSessions will run every 20-30 minutes with 1-3 people per session. Sessions will start at 9am. Time Slot sign up is first come first serve. \nAt the “Try Scuba” event you will get to work in small groups with one of our NAUI certified instructors who each have many years of experience. They will teach you about the gear involved\, how to put it together\, how to breathe underwater\, and then swim with you underwater as you scuba! \nThe Process: You will walk into a controlled underwater environment at a shallow depth of 4 feet. From there your instructor will take you to the deeper part of the pool at about 12 feet in depth. In this part you and your group will take a great souvenir photo and then you get to swim back to the shallow part where you will have then completed your very first dive! \nRequirements: You must be at least 10 years old and in good health. You will also be asked to sign a Liability Waiver. \nPreregister by August 7th by marking yourself as ‘going’ on the event page and get prepayments to Coach Caton at SHS! It’s that easy! If you preregister\, you can try scuba for just $35 Donation! \nThe CASH donation cost after August 8th or at the gate is $50. Normally “Try Scuba” would cost you $100 but through this event you get to try scuba for half the price! \nBy trying scuba with us\, not only will you be getting to essentially breathe underwater\, but you will also be supporting the SHS Swim and Dive team.* Come live out your dream and help our Blue Streaks at the SHS “Try Scuba” event sponsored by Under Pressure Sports. \nDon’t forget to Share! This will benefit their much needed spay and neuter program. \nOur awesome vendors will have table raffles\, samples\, and cash and carry items. Holidays are just around the corner\, have all your shopping done before Halloween. \nI want to remind everyone our events are for 18 and older.\nPaddles are $3 and we will have our 50/50 and special raffle.\nThis month we have two special raffles.\nWear BLUE and get a ticket for Drug Free Highlands drawing.\nBring SCHOOL Supplies and earn up to 5 tickets for a $20 Chili’s gift card. The Highlands Art League\nartist member exhibit brings to one gallery the talents of current local year’ round artists and\nphotographers Kayla Chaput\, Kevin Collier\, Jean Cormier\, Ellen Dixon\, Norma Evans\, Alice Hansen\,\nMary Lou Herald\, Pam Jessiman\, Marty Layne\, Donald Lipps\, Jr.\, Cindy Rose\, Ingrid Strope\, and\nMichelle Weidner. They join a friend and fellow artist Selene Spence who is featured posthumously. A\nlife-long supporter and artist with the Highlands Art League\, Spence is well-known for her watercolors\nand graphite drawings\, just as she is for the kindness shown to others in and outside of the art\ncommunity in Highlands County. \nJoin us for the exhibit opening on Friday\, August 2\, 4:30—6:30 p.m. in the lower level of MoTA as we\ncelebrate the work of these talented Central Florida artists.
