All About the Christmas Spirit
For Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 8, 2019.
Happy December! We hope everyone had a wonderful time for Thanksgiving and was able to see the Avon Park Christmas Parade! Just three more weekends, including this one, until Christmas! All through the month of December there are a variety of events celebrating Christmas, putting everyone in the spirit of giving back and spending time with those around us that matter most.
Friday and Saturday night venture to the Hammock North Pole! From 6-9pm enjoy the tram sleigh ride, hear Christmas stories from Mrs. Claus, decorate cookies, play games, and so much more! Adult tickets are $10 and children under 12 are $5. All proceeds will benefit the park and will help continue to allow spectacular events to take place.
Did you have a blast at the Avon Park Christmas Parade? Well this Friday, come to The Circle for the Sebring Christmas Parade! Start off the season right with friendly faces, Christmas cheer, and a multitude of local businesses and other talents all celebrating the real spirit of the holidays. Sebring’s Christmas Parade will begin around 7 pm.
Looking to expand your family this holiday season? Help Animal Services find these adorable animals their fur-ever homes! Merry Pawsmas will have food, fun, raffles, and of course the little fur baby of your dreams! Saturday from 9am-1pm, don’t miss out on your new best friend! All proceeds from this event will be going to the Saunders Second Chances spay and neuter fund.
Ready for a sweet treat? Head down to the Highlands Art League on Saturday from 9am-noon for their 7th Annual Cookie Fest! Children, 2-12, can come to write a letter to Santa, decorate a holiday cookie as inspiration for more (recipes provided), and even make some crafts! Sponsored by The Palms of Sebring, this is a free event, but please make sure to register HERE to ensure the supplies needed will be there.
The true spirit of Christmas is the giving and helpful nature of those around us. Head down to the Lake June Ball Fields to help Heartland Outdoor World to put on their 1st Annual Toy Drive Tournament! $40 and a new unopened toy is your payment to join. 3 fish limit and lunch will be at weigh-in. All the toys will be distributed to local families in need.
If you’re out and about this weekend, snap a selfie and use #SRundown! Looking for more events? Check our events calendar HERE! Remember, if you’re still shopping for those hard-to-buy-for people, the gift of an experience is a magical one!
