Iron Havoc Gym is Sebring’s newest strength training facility located behind Love Buggs Car Wash on 27. The owners, Patrick and Amanda, say “Iron Havoc was built out of necessity. When we moved here from Alabama we tried to find a gym where we felt at home but we never found the community we were looking for so we had to make it happen ourselves. We wanted to create an environment that was welcoming to powerlifters, strength athletes, and anyone who wanted a gym where they didn’t have to worry about using chalk, playing loud music, or the status quo of a typical gym. Here at Iron Havoc we all push each other to get stronger, we’re like a family.”
This weekend they are hosting their first annual Night of the Living Deadlift party on Saturday October 26th 2019 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. The event is open to the public and includes free food, drinks, games and lifting of course! “We want to bring the lifting community together and create a space where we can all eat, drink, have fun and lift together” says Amanda and Patrick. Costumes are encouraged too so make sure you’re in your spookiest attire. Come on out, lift some weights, eat some food and have a great time!

This weekend we will get to celebrate Leap Day! Does your family have any traditions or superstitions surrounding the day or the entire leap year? We’ve read that many cultures believe that leap year and especially leap day are somewhat cursed. In fact, in Italy, they refer to a Leap Year as a gloomy year. They also warn against weddings and other special activities because “Anno bisesto tutte le donne senza sesto”, meaning “in a leap year, women are erratic.” We got a good laugh out of that. We’re still going to go out and have fun all weekend!
Are you an avid lover of Harry Potter? Head down to the library at South Florida State College and represent your house during Hogwarts Colloquium & Celebration! Play games, make crafts, and earn house points! Combine the magical world of Harry Potter with an array of Undergraduate Research. Become immersed in Hogwarts from 9am-4pm on Friday and help your house earn the House Cup!
Fresh and delicious! The Lake Placid Farmers Market is open Saturday from 8am-1:30pm and will have a little of everything you’re looking for! Local Florida produce, artists, fresh food, plants, and music while you’re there!

Recycled Percussion has played over 4,000 shows and over 400 corporate events in over 15 countries. The group also has done guest appearances on “Carson Daly”, “The Today Show”, “China’s Got Talent” and the Latin Grammy Awards. After being featured on the cover of “USA Today” and being voted National Act of the Year a record-breaking six times, the band gained world-wide recognition.
Since Justin Spencer formed Recycled Percussion in 1995, the band has been unstoppable. Their junk rock music became a national phenomenon week after week during their smash hit performances on America’s Got Talent in 2009.
